Charis is a jill of all trades. From teaching kids up to people over 80, to singing and choreography work, Charis is passionate about community building and hopes to create a more inclusive industry, fostering mutual appreciation of different art forms among different individuals.

Today’s conversation is with Charis Koh.
She spent the last 9 years helping clients of all ages, with varying fitness levels and needs. From teaching toddlers to dance, helping people with rehabilitation and towards their fitness and mobility goals, teaching the above 80s to enjoy movement again, singing for weddings, and doing movement choreography work for various projects. Other than teaching, Charis is passionate about community building. She enjoys bringing like-minded people together, creating experiences, and discovering similarities and interrelations between seemingly unrelated subjects. She hopes to create a more inclusive industry and foster a mutual appreciation of different art forms among different individuals.

Charis teaches Fluid Strength, Mobility, and Kinstretch sessions and she loves that movement does not discriminate and is for everybody.

In this episode, we dove deeper into the events that informed her perspective today, from movement practice to business to health and the value of human connections.

To develop a strong mind, we work on our creativity, mental resilience, and emotional well-being. - that’s one of the four pillars of what MOVE academy in Singapore is about.

MOVE academy started as a Parkour school. As they matured, they learned the benefits of practicing other art forms, based on their firm belief in universal interdependence. Beyond differing foundations, they see the endless possibilities of movement, where they value the unique view everyone brings. Mutually inspired, they build a safe space in a messy world. MOVE, as part of its new Teadent project, is collaborating with various coaches and artists to offer new classes and workshops, like gymnastic rings, party dancing, art journaling, capoeira, kin stretch, handstands and more, also including one that I teach called FloorPlay. Check out all of the services offered both in-person and online, on moveacademy.sg
